First Look at Disney's Ultimate Spider-Man Animated Series

Marvel offers up the first shot of the web-head in action for Disney XD's upcoming animated series Ultimate Spider-Man.

One can never have enough Spider-Man, with Marc Webb's upcoming Andrew Garfield reboot The Amazing Spider-Man, or the famous Broadway train-wreck drifting in and out of the news.

Moved back to to 2012 likely to coincide with its feature film counterpart, Disney XD's Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon today webbed up our first look at the animation style of the wallcrawler himself, courtesy of Marvel Comics.

Besides the image, the news that J.K. Simmons will reprise his role as J. Jonah Jameson from the Sam Raimi films, and the bootleg animation test making its internet rounds, we know relatively little about Spidey's next animated incarnation beyond its superior writing staff.

Paul Dini, Emmy-award winning writer behind Batman: The Animated Series and LOST, and Brian Michael Bendis will join Man of Action Studios to bring together the series. Man of Action has previously been responsible for Ben 10 and Generator Rex, powered by the creative team of Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle.

Bendis will serve as a consulting producer on the series, while Man of Action will direct the writing staff, generate and edit scripts while Dini will write the pilot and serve as Creative Consultant.
